Adult Crisis is a mobile unit that offers 24-hour a day, seven days a week availability of experienced, mental health professionals for face-to-face interventions and/or phone counseling in crisis situations. The majority of these cases involve persons struggling with mental health issues, such as depression, suicidal feelings, chronic mental illnesses, family disturbances, victims of felony crime, or drug and alcohol abuse problems.
Our goal is to de-escalate the crisis and stabilize the immediate situation and help persons regain pre-crisis level of functioning, or optimally, a more satisfactory level of functioning. Once stabilized, Adult Crisis then links individuals with longer-term services, if necessary. Adult Crisis works to provide persons with support during critical times and assist them in exploring options and resources to empower them to resolve their issues.
Adult Crisis is a primary source of consultation to law enforcement officers, emergency room staff, jail staff, and other human service workers responding to mental health emergencies. In providing this, we minimize the need for hospitalization by offering creative alternatives, including
KARE Center placement or outpatient referrals. |
