Adult Family Care

Adult Family Care is a program for disabled adults who are unable to live independently in the community. These adults may be diagnosed with a developmental, physical or mental disability. They may also suffer from the infirmities of aging or have a chemical dependency.

Adult Family Homes are certified to provide care to one or two persons. Referrals come from the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), the Community Support Program (CSP) and other agencies. Placements are arranged and supervised by the case manager and Adult Family Home Coordinator. Interested family members and other treatment providers are also a part of the team that works together to insure the best living situation possible.

Placement in an Adult Family Home can be temporary, transitional or permanent. Adult Family home providers open their homes to individuals with a variety of needs and abilities, allowing the individual the freedom to live in the community and still receive the supports they need. As the need for this type of service grows, we anticipate growth in the number of homes that will serve Kenosha’s disabled population..
