If 2020 had a mascot it might very well be this dog. This year arrived with a bang and just keeps on giving. We’ve come through the threat of murder hornets, moved an entire business in one week and are still dealing with daily issues of the move, and are working/living in a time of a pandemic that has made social distancing and working differently the norm. August brought us a time of great social unrest in our city adding to the stress and anxiety that we were already experiencing. We watched fearfully as portions of our city burned and felt the hurt of our neighbors as we joined them in their fight for racial justice and peace. We thought of ways to give back to our community to help it heal while still quietly fearing what might come next.
Yet we continued to offer the highest quality services to our consumers as we have always done. At KHDS, our services have always come first. We did not let any of this roller coaster year stop our mission. We may have had to duck and swerve a little, but we did it and will continue to do it. That is the culture of KHDS.
In the following months, the ones leading up to the end of this horrible year and, hopefully, into a better 2021, let’s embrace that eager puppy inside that ugly mascot. We’ll whip ourselves up into something wonderful and keep on with the best work we that we can do. KHDS is resilient and strong. We have been since the day our doors opened back in the 70s and we will be long after this ugly year has passed us by. So, let’s get groomed and ready! Here’s to the rest of the year!
