IMPACT -- Cassi's Story

For Cassi, 23 was supposed to be about the summer of fun, growing into adulthood, and independence. But, it wasn't. It was hot, humid, restless. And, she was living in her car.

It wasn't always like this. She grew up with a great family, was a great basketball player, and had tons of friends. But, a couple of unexpected bills, an ER visit, and some car trouble -- rent was one of the choices she had to balance.

Thanks to the hard work of KHDS' Homeless Assistance Outreach Team, Cassi was able to utilize expertise and resources to get her life back on track and receive the supports she needed.
